Longest-serving active-duty officer first female to become Service Chief.
President Biden congratulated Admiral Linda L. Fagan on her confirmation by the Senate this month as Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. Admiral Fagan, the first female to become a four-star admiral, has served in the Coast Guard service for 36 years. She is the longest-serving active-duty Marine Safety Officer, which earned her the Coast Guard’s first-ever Gold Ancient Trident in March 2017.
“Today, she again makes history not only as the first woman to lead the Coast Guard—but also as the first woman Service Chief of any U.S. military service,” stated President Biden. “Admiral Fagan’s leadership, experience, and integrity are second to none, and I know she will advance the Coast Guard’s mission to ensure our nation’s maritime safety and security.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Admiral Fagan to seek God’s guidance as she heads the Coast Guard.
- For all Coast Guard personnel as they protect U.S. waters and coasts.
- For the president and his advisors to be discerning in those nominated to various government posts.
